this was my very fist single that i wrote. i was in a transitional period of my life where i felt confused about my feelings, my thoughts, and what kind of life i wanted to create for myself. after living in japan that previous summer, i realized becoming a singer was the ultimate dream. with a lot of advice and support from my songwriting teacher josh, this single was an amazing start to 2020 and my music career.
oh, 2901. this song is my most vulnerable & personal song. i wrote this all in one night where i was writing with no boundaries. i let all my feelings out on the page and couldn't stop. the beat was inspired by 'ball w/o you' by my all time favourite 21 savage. the number 2901 is special to me, and the numbers rearranged also represent something. the lyrics really speak for itself for this one.
this is my most upbeat song! inspired by 'just friends' by audrey mika. this song is a dancey, summery song. i really experimented with layering and creating more dimension to vocals. i had so much fun writing and recording this one. it's about finally letting go and finding your inner happiness. i was truly happy and feeling my best the day this photo was taken. it really felt like i was healing and letting the past go. i hope this song makes you want to get up and dance!
i wrote this song with my brother (@tak.stonewell)! this song is about being in love with someone, yet feeling so far away from them. it's about there being distance between the two of us and wanting to go back to the way it was. still getting butterflies whenever i look at them. wanting to save the relationship. this is my first EDM type song, and i love how it turned out! thank you jessica (@wrong.artaccount) for this incredible album art.
my personal favourite! i love the layers and harmonies, and the album art was beyond my expectations. after getting in a year of practice in songwriting, i felt like i was more in control of how my music came out. josh and i used vocal chops in the chorus, and i did some more background vocals. this song talks about how no matter what, i'll always be in love with this person and there was nobody else that could drive me as crazy as this person could. thank you marz (@marzthedesigner) for this beautiful album art!
